Solo Exhibits at Ignite Studio

Ignite Studio is seeking solo or small group exhibitions for select dates in 2026. The exhibit space is located directly inside the Fishers Library’s north entrance in the lower lobby. 16 linear feet of exhibition space is available for artists to display their artwork in exhibits that will occur for varying lengths of time in between our regularly scheduled exhibits.

In 2026 we have the following dates available:

May 23 – July 10

July 25 – September 11

September 26 – November 11

There is no cost to submit proposals or for exhibiting. We do not take commission on sales. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; please indicate which timeframe you would like to be considered for. Submissions are reviewed by a selection of library staff. Selected artists will be notified by staff to go over installation procedures.

2D artwork of any media is acceptable, including but not limited to: painting, sketching, collage, assemblage, fiber art, mixed media, photography, prints. We are unable to display 3D work (pieces unable to be wired for hanging on a wall) in the lobby.

All work is allowed to be listed for sale. Ignite Studio does not take commission or handle transactions. By submitting your work you are giving Ignite Studio staff permission to provide your contact information to interested buyers. If your work is sold, it is the responsibility of the artist to inform Ignite staff so that we may mark it as SOLD for the duration of the show. It is the artist’s responsibility to arrange for delivery of the sold artwork to the client. Sold artwork MUST remain on display through the duration of the exhibit.

About Ignite Studio

Ignite Studio is a 15,000 sq/ft arts-focused makerspace operating as a department of the Hamilton East Public Library. Ignite sparks curiosity, imagination, and exploration in Hamilton County. We are a creative space for a creative community, with free and public access to art kits, digital media labs, fabrication equipment, an A/V Studio, and more.

Ignite Studio is located in the lower level of the Fishers branch of the Hamilton East Public Library, located at 5 Municipal Dr, Fishers, IN, 46038. We are open M-Thr 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Fri-Sat 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and Sundays 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Proposal Submissions Guidelines

Send as an attachment and label your document “Lastname_Firstname Proposal”

Additional Submission Info

  • NO AI GENERATED WORK.
  • Copies or edits of another artist’s work are not eligible for entry.
  • If you have previously been accepted as a solo exhibitor, to allow everyone an opportunity to display, please wait at least one year before reapplying.
  • Artwork should not exceed 70lbs.
  • Ignite Studio is located in a public library visited by all ages. Artwork content must be acceptable for a general audience – library staff may deny display of any artwork that may be considered inappropriate.
  • Displayed artwork might be photographed for promotional work (social media, print materials, etc).
  • All artwork must remain on display for the entirety of the exhibit. No substitutions once the exhibit begins, even if a piece is sold.
  • Hamilton County residents are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

There is 16 linear feet of wall space for hanging. This space can comfortably fit 6-8 pieces around 16×20, or up to 24 pieces around 12×12, as small works can be hung to display multiple piece vertically to accommodate more work. Accepted artists should plan to visit the space to view the hanging system to begin planning. You can see content from previous solo exhibits on our website here.

Receptions

The dates for artist receptions are pre-planned to coincide with artist receptions for our group exhibits. We cannot edit or alter these dates. Some extra opportunities for promotion like the Fishers Gallery Hops may happen during select exhibit timeframes.
