Welcome back to the What’s Cooking @ HEPL blog! I am Heidi Herald, a Public Services Librarian at Hamilton East Public Library. I will be reviewing one of the library’s cookbooks each month. This month, we will try some recipes using an air fryer from The skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook by Gina Homolka.
With the recent popularity of the air fryer, I thought this would be a good time to review a cookbook with recipes for the air fryer. Like many others, I recently purchased an air fryer to try to cook healthy and quick dinners. I really enjoyed some of the simple recipes in this cookbook. The recipes were easy to prepare, healthy, and delicious!
The Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Bundles were simple and tasty!
I love dill pickles so I wanted to try the Pickle-Brined Chicken Tenders. These are packed with dill pickle flavor after being marinated in pickle juice for 8 hours. They are also tender!
The Brussel Sprouts with Bacon were delicious!
I also cooked one of my all-time favorites—Crispy Sweet Potato Fries.
Finally, in the video below I make Crispy Za’atar Chickpeas!
I hope you will borrow The skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook from our library collections to try out some recipes in the air fryer! It is available in print and as an eBook through Libby/OverDrive.
