The library has added some new reading programs on Beanstack especially for teens! We have different reading programs year-round for different age groups. These were created to encourage those in grades 6-12 to keep reading throughout their lives.
100 Books Before High School
For teens in grades 6-8 only.
Finished 500 Books Before Middle School and started 6th grade? This reading program is for you! Teens can keep reading books to win prizes throughout 6th-8th grades. Win a vinyl sticker for signing up and for every 10 books you read. When you reach 100 books, win a $10 gift card from Barnes & Noble!
100 Books Before Graduation
For teens in grades 9-12 only.
Finding time to read in high school can be rough. This reading program encourages high schoolers to keep finding reading time in their schedule so they can become lifelong learners! You win a vinyl sticker for signing up and for every 10 books you read. When you finish logging your 100th book, you win a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card!
Teen Reading Challenge
For teens in grades 6-12 only.
Want to read something but don’t know what? The Teen Reading Challenge will help you add books to your finished pile! Each month, teens are challenged to read a book with a unique theme. From reading a graphic novel to reading a book with a green cover, each month’s theme is completely different! If you skip a month (we all get busy!), you have until the end of the year to read a book with that theme.
After logging your monthly book, you win a vinyl sticker. If you complete the challenge every month, you win an extra bonus prize at the end of the year! Come to the TeenZone to redeem your prizes.
As an added plus—books you log for the Teen Reading Challenge also count towards 100 Books Before High School or 100 Books Before Graduation depending on your grade. How awesome is that?
