Hamilton East Public library is committed to providing high-quality library services to the residents of Delaware, Fall Creek, Noblesville and Wayne townships of Hamilton County, Indiana while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff and the public as possible. To ensure this the library will:
- Increase virtual and online services
- Implement immediate-access digital library cards
- Increase access to and content of downloadable collections
- Offer virtual programs, enrichment, and activities via online engagement platforms
- Extend library WiFi to parking lots
- Institute a phased reopening plan to allow for gradual addition of contact-free curbside delivery and limited in-person services while maintaining recommended social distancing and hygiene protocols for staff and the public. This plan will be updated regularly.
- Follow local, state and federal guidance for public spaces when determining reopening timelines.
- Follow recommended guidance from IOSHA and CDC for maintaining low risk of COVID-19 transmission including:
- Required daily employee self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms
- Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- Increased wipedowns of high-touch surfaces
- Cleaning kits including gloves, CDC-approved disinfectants, and paper towels readily available in all departments
- Alcohol-based hand sanitizer readily available in all departments
- Regular handwashing
- Workspace arrangements that allow for required social distancing for staff at all times
- All staff required to wear masks or cloth face coverings in public spaces
