Eight years after the premiere of the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading challenge on Beanstack, we are refreshing the look and feel of this much beloved program.
On Friday, January 31, the current challenge on Beanstack will sunset and patrons can join the NEW 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge. This challenge will feature new graphics and stickers of animal characters that are all native to the state of Indiana.
Along with the program, we are introducing a new early literacy mascot! Help us name our new squirrel friend here.
Please note: If your child is already enrolled in the current challenge, we recommend jotting down how many books you have already read for the current challenge and entering that number when you join the new program. You should be able to find the number of “titles completed” under the “challenge log” in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program on Beanstack.
Once you enroll in the new program, you can stop by the library to pick up a new tracking sheet and continue to log your books as you read with your little one on your journey to read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!
