Wolf by Wolf
By: Ryan Graudin
This book begins with two big “what ifs”. What if Germany and Japan won WW2? What if the horrible experiments the Nazis conducted on concentration camp inmates actually resulted in giving these prisoners powers? Useful powers.
Yael is one of those prisoners who not only survived the experiments and escaped the death camp, but gained powers that would help the resistance. The experiments she survived were meant to just change her skin tone and eye and hair color to make her more Aryan looking. But, they also gave her the ability to “skin shift”. She can make herself look exactly like any other human being. Her mission is daunting. She must use her powers to get close to the reclusive Hitler and kill him signaling the beginning of an uprising.
This book is a thought-provoking, fast-paced roller coaster ride of a story. If you like revisionist history, the Hunger Games or the tv show The Amazing Race, definitely check this one out! I can’t wait until book 2 of the series, Blood by Blood, comes out in November!
