The 2026 HEPL Music Series

Love music? Join us on select Saturdays throughout the year for the 2026 HEPL Music Series! This is the twelfth year the Friends of the Hamilton East Public Library have sponsored the Music Series, bringing a variety of wonderful concerts to the Fishers Library. These free concerts are for all ages, including children and families. Registration is recommended.

Indianapolis Chinese OrchestraIndianapolis Chinese Orchestra Spring Concert: A Collection of Traditional and Contemporary Asian Music
May 2 | 2-3 pm | Fishers Library

The Indianapolis Chinese Orchestra, was formed over 15 years ago by our group leader and conductor, Ka Liang Qing. Ka Laoshi (teacher Ka) is an accomplished musician and highly skilled in playing various traditional Chinese musical instruments. Under his leadership, the Indianapolis Chinese Orchestra has developed into a talented group of amateur musicians that perform with traditional Chinese instruments, whose designs date back over 3,000 years. We perform at various festivals and cultural events and introduce our audience to traditional and contemporary Chinese music while adding in some familiar American music classics for added measure.


Jay DanielsJay Daniels – A Place for Us: The Music of Stephen Sondheim

Experience the genius of one of Broadway’s most revered composers in A Place for Us: The Music of Stephen Sondheim. Pianist and vocalist Jay Daniels pays tribute to Sondheim’s extraordinary legacy with heartfelt interpretations of songs from Gypsy, A Little Night Music, and more. The concert also features a special sing-along portion, inviting the audience to join in beloved selections from West Side Story. For nearly 30 years, pianist and vocalist Jay Daniels has been sharing the gift of timeless music with audiences throughout the mid-Atlantic region. A native of Louisa County, Virginia, Jay now resides in Collingswood, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. Before moving to the Northeast, Jay received some of his musical training at Shenandoah University under the direction of Michael Forest, an acclaimed tenor who spent nearly 30 years at the Metropolitan Opera House. He is proud to also collaborate with a fellow New Jersey vocalist, Sarah Partridge. Music is a full-time profession for Jay as he brings his solo piano and vocal concerts to libraries, senior communities, and other venues in the area – with nearly 30 concerts each month. Previously, Jay was also the host for the nationally syndicated jazz radio program, Simply Timeless, heard on nearly 20 stations across the country until 2022.


Fishers Community Chorus groupFishers Community Chorus Holiday Concert

The Fishers Community Chorus (founded in 2015) is an all-volunteer adult vocal ensemble dedicated to providing a creative performance outlet to the musical citizens of Fishers! We are a mixed chorus, with members from every walk of life. Are you a former or current singer who is looking for a performing ensemble? Circle City Ringers musical groupCircle City Ringers Holiday Concert
December 5 | 1-2 pm | Fishers Library

Circle City Ringers is an auditioned, bronze-level community handbell ensemble located in the greater Indianapolis area. They are also a proud member of the Handbell Musicians of America. The musicians will be playing seasonal music on their traditional English handbells and hand chimes. It’s the perfect music to ring in the season!
