Calling all teen artists! Design an 11in x 17in poster featuring your favorite quote for a chance to have your poster displayed in the TeenZones and win a gift card!
Use paint, colored pencils, collage, digital art, photography, or any other art technique you want to make an original poster design featuring your favorite quote. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive gift cards and their posters will be displayed in the Fishers and Noblesville TeenZones!
Starting June 1, you can pick up an 11in x 17in piece of paper in the Fishers or Noblesville TeenZones to design in the library or take home to design. If digital art is your thing, digital posters will also be accepted by email.
WHO: Teens going into grades 6-12 for the 2025-2026 academic year living in or attending school in Fishers or Noblesville (and/or Delaware, Fall Creek, Noblesville, or Wayne township)
WHEN: Entries are due by Monday, June 30, 2025 by 8pm
WHAT: An 11in x 17in poster with an original design featuring your favorite quote
THEME: Your Favorite Quote
WINNERS: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will have their posters displayed in the Fishers and Noblesville TeenZones and receive digital gift cards of $50, $30, and $25, respectively (winners can choose a gift card from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Target, and Starbucks).
Guidelines
- Only one entry per person
- Entry must be an 11in x 17in poster (either physical or digital)
- Entry must contain on the poster an accurate quote and the name of the quote’s author/speaker with no misspellings or rewordings
- Entry must be appropriate for all ages and for library display
The Teen Zone is located in a public library visited by all ages, therefore, content should be appropriate for all ages. The library reserves the right to determine whether or not to display work created by patrons within the library.
- Entry must be the teen’s original artwork and not plagiarized
- Cannot submit an entry in which any portion of the work is generated by AI (artificial intelligence)
Entry can be submitted in two ways:
1. Digital entries can be emailed to [email protected] as a PDF or JPEG. The teen’s NAME, GRADE, SCHOOL NAME/HOMESCHOOL, EMAIL, PHONE NUMBER, and HOME ADDRESS must be included in the email.
2. Physical entries can be turned in to the TeenZone Staff Desks during library open hours. Teen must turn in the completed physical poster and a submission slip containing the teen’s NAME, GRADE, SCHOOL NAME/HOMESCHOOL, EMAIL, PHONE NUMBER, and HOME ADDRESS. Submission slips are available in both TeenZones at the Teen Poster Design Contest art station.
*Submissions that do not include both a poster and all the requested information will not be accepted.
Entry must be submitted by Monday, June 30, 2025 by 8pm
Judging
Judges for the contest will be a mixed panel of HEPL staff (adults) and Teen Advisory Board members (teens) who do not have entries in the contest.
Submissions will be judged anonymously with only the author’s grade level visible to judges (grade level/age of author will be considered when judging).
Judges will be looking at the following criteria:
- Poster fits the theme and contains an accurate quote and the name of the quote’s author/speaker in the design
- Appropriateness for all ages and for library display
- Skill and technique
- Creativity
Winning posters will be displayed in the Fishers and Noblesville TeenZones starting on Thursday, July 31. All artists who submitted a poster will be notified of results via email.
