While COVID-19 continues to shape our lives, we are future-focused and continue to press forward to safely provide library resources, programs, and services to our community. While vaccine rollout is proceeding at a steady pace, masks are still our first line of defense against COVID-19 and we appreciate all visitors wearing a mask inside our buildings. This is to protect those around you just in case you are still a carrier.
On April 6, 2021, Indiana will transition from a mask mandate to a mask advisory while maintaining its public health emergency status.
How will our focus on the future and commitment to our patrons’ and staff’s health and safety during this transition change your library experience? Learn more about what is changing and what is not.
What is Changing?
Hours of Operation. Beginning Monday, April 5, the library will resume its standard operating hours.
Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 12:00 pm – 6:00 p.m.
What is Not Changing?
Staff Face Coverings. All library staff will continue to wear face coverings throughout the mask advisory and public health emergency.
Visitor Face Coverings. Visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings inside our buildings. Free masks are available for visitors just inside the entrance and at public service stations.
Social Distancing and Hand Sanitization Stands. As recommended by public health officials, social distancing and hand sanitization practices should continue. Our physical distancing floor decals and hand sanitizing stations will remain in our libraries.
Cleaning and Hygiene Protocols. COVID-related health and safety cleaning protocols will remain in effect, as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of all.
Toys, Interactive Items, Meeting Rooms, and Study Rooms. For now, high-touch interactive items and toys will not return to our spaces. Meeting rooms and study rooms will continue to be used to maintain social distancing of staff workspaces.
Curbside Pickup. Our Curbside Pickup service will continue at both libraries. For more information about our curbside service and to schedule an appointment, click here.
Despite the pandemic’s challenging circumstances, we are optimistic that your library experience now and in the future will help you feel safe, connected, informed, and inspired.
