Key Strategic Priorities
Strategic Priority 1: Access
People will find appealing and accessible library materials, spaces, and services they need and want.
- Increase availability and use of library resources
- Remove barriers to access of physical and digital spaces
- Provide access to clean, safe, and functional spaces
Strategic Priority 2: Community
Everyone is welcome in the library and will find people, resources, and services that reflect a broad range of individual interests and needs.
- Ensure collection depth and breadth reflects community needs
- Provide events and services that reflect the needs of the community
- Develop informed and compassionate library employees to effectively serve all in the community
Strategic Priority 3: Engagement
People will know what the library has to offer and receive accurate information about library services in places they frequent and from trusted sources.
- Increase number of active library users
- Improve awareness of services, resources, and HEPL mission
- Prioritize opportunities to connect with community, both in and outside of the library
Strategic Priority 4: Capacity
The Library will expand to meet the needs of our increasingly diverse and growing community.
- Establish Library Foundation
- Explore a third HEPL location
- Develop and implement robust strategy for evaluating capacity
