Ignite Gallery and Art Exhibit Policy
Objective
Hamilton East Public Library’s Ignite Studio hosts exhibit space intended to engage with and promote local artists. Ignite seeks to identify exhibit themes that can represent a wide range of artistic expression. In keeping with the HEPL mission to be our community’s essential connector to information and ideas, Ignite Studio follows these goals in creating gallery exhibits:
- To assist local artists in becoming known to the public
- To invite artists to engage with Ignite Studio on an ongoing basis
- To provide a space for the community to engage in the cultural and artistic dialogue in Hamilton County.
Submission Policy
Ignite Studio releases “Calls for Art” periodically. Exhibit themes and submission guidelines are articulated by library staff for each unique exhibit. Ignite Studio
reserves the right to partner with an individual or an organization for a single exhibit, in which a public call for art will not be made.
Selection Process
Library staff, under the direction of the Ignite Studio Manager, will review all exhibit submissions. Selections are made based on the artwork’s interpretation of the exhibit theme, the fulfillment of the submission guidelines, and in relation to how the artwork fulfills the above stated objectives. Exhibit space and configuration will also be a factor in the selection process.
