Little Excavator
By: Anna Dewdney
If you are a fan of the “Llama Llama” series by the late Anna Dewdney, you will love Little Excavator (this book is one of her final stories). A small, but eager to work, excavator named Little E just wants to find a job he can help with at the work site. With his friend, a small spotted dog, Little E tries various jobs from knocking down walls, trying to load a dump truck, to digging a hole just to name a few but fails because he is too small. At days end, can Little E find a job just his size? Children will love the colorful illustrations and the friendly faces on the various construction machinery. The text is in rhyme and there are plenty of chances for the listener to make sounds along with the machinery! A perfect read aloud for ages 2-5.
