LibraryCon!

LibraryCon!

Get ready for loads of family-friendly activities at HEPL’s first ever LibraryCon!, an all-ages celebration of fandom and geeky goodness!

Join us on Saturday, November 16  from 10 am – 2 pm at the Fishers Library for a variety of workshops, live performances, games, crafts, vendors, artists, and more!

Star Wars IndianaWant to test your trivia chops? Sign up for the all-ages LibraryCon! Trivia Showdown and compete in categories ranging from Pokémon, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more. Whether you’re a Jedi Master, a wizard in training, or a Pokémon champion, there’s something for everyone. The top three teams will win fantastic prizes, so bring your A-game and prepare for a fun-filled challenge!

The ThreepiosEnjoy music from a galaxy far, far away with a performance by The Threepios, a rock tribute band. Or, enjoy a live Fandom Concert with a mixture of anime, video game, and movie music from Eric Salazar and Li-Wen Weng. Our friends from Star Wars Indiana will be stationed throughout the library for photo ops with fans.

And Sewing is Half the Battle

Get crafty in one of our themed workshops led by “…And Sewing is Half the Battle!” You can make a dice bracelet in the Gamer Bracelet workshop to keep or give as a gift (due to limited supplies, registration is required on-site the day of the event)! They will also teach you how to read a pattern to create your own costume and more in the Patterns Lie! workshop. Beth Broadhurst of Creative Energy Arts will host Capes for All! where you can craft a no-sew cape for your inner hero or villain. Try your hand at 3D needle felting with Ignite Studio’s Maker-in-Residence, Nicole Meyer, or make a manga-themed button or magnet in the TeenZone. Pick up a dragon egg kit to take home and create. Make a Hand Sewn Drawstring Dice Bag all day in the Ignite Studio. Crafty activities are available while supplies last.

Are you a Jane Austen or Bridgerton fan? Learn how to spin across the dance floor in an interactive English Country Dancing workshop led by Alice Smith-Goeke.

Are these the droids you’re looking for? They might be! Robotics teams from local area schools are bringing their projects to play!

Whos Yer GamersGame Star MobileDrop in to our open board gaming room with Who’s Yer Gamers to learn a new game, enjoy an old favorite, or, if digital is more your thing, check out the GameStar Mobile video game truck!
