I Funny: School of Laughs
By: James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein
School of Laughs is the fifth book in the I Funny series by James Patterson. While this series is very popular with kids, I was not thrilled with the book. Maybe that’s because it is the fifth book in the series.
The story line is a good one. It’s about a group of kids that are trying to save their school library from being turned into a wrestling team practice space. From the perspective of a librarian I of course thought that is a commendable endeavor! However, I grew tired of the main character, Jamie Grimm, continuously reminding the reader that he is wheelchair bound due to an auto accident. I suppose some of the comments were intended to be funny, but they did not hit the mark
