Books Are Back (Plus More!) Through Contact-free Curbside Pickup

Beginning May 26, 2020, our physical books, DVDs, and audiobooks (plus more!) are available for in-person curbside holds pickup at both our Fishers and Noblesville branches. We are expanding from our online, digital, and virtual services to in-person curbside holds pickup that is contact free. This phased-in service advances our plans for a responsible restart and prioritizes the safety of our patrons and staff.

As our staff continues to work diligently behind-the-scenes to safely receive and reshelve the tens of thousands of physical library materials that were checked out prior to our Covid-related building closure, our buildings remain closed to the public. However, our book returns are open and curbside holds pickup has begun! Due dates have been extended during this time period. We are not able to accept book donations at this time.

Placing Curbside Holds

Browse our online catalog here and place holds on library books, DVDs, and audiobooks by clicking the “place holds” link, then wait for a text or email notification that your items are available, and drive to HEPL for contact-free curbside holds pickup. Follow the directional signs at the library and call the number posted to request staff to bring your holds curbside. Patrons who prefer to walk or bike, may follow the same steps for curbside pickup.

You may place holds via the website, the app, or by calling library staff for assistance (Noblesville: 317-770-1384 or Fishers: 317-579-0300). Holds may be picked up curbside during these hours: Mon.-Thurs. 11-7; Fri. and Sat. 11-4; Sun. 2-4.

Curbside Creativity Packs and Curbside Seed Packs Now Available

More than books, DVDs and audiobooks are available for curbside pickup!

Our Ignite Studio is offering weekly Curbside Creativity Packs at both library locations, while supplies last. For questions about our weekly Creativity Packs, call our Ignite Studio staff at 317-579-0331.

Our Seed Library will now be available curbside and patrons can request up to 15 seed packages by sending an email request to: seedlibrary@hamiltoneastpl.org or calling 317-579-0301 or 317-770-3210. Same day seed pack requests are not available at this time.

Personalized Assistance from Our Librarians

As we continue to phase in our services, call or email with us seven days a week for help finding library materials, job searching, finding trusted public assistance resources, getting assistance with a library resource, and more.  Personalized assistance related to accessing our library materials and making selections can be obtained by calling staff at our Fishers library at 317-579-0300 or our Noblesville library at 317-773-1384.  Our librarians are available for live chats by telephone to assist you with a full range of library resources and public assistance resources.
