To check out one of these exciting new items, simply locate the display stand in either the Noblesville or Fishers branch, where you will find display cases for the games. Take the case of the game (or games!) you would like to the nearest staff desk, and we will retrieve the game for you! You can also browse on our digital catalog by searching for “Library of Things” and narrowing down to a Material Type of Library of Things.

If you have ever checked out one of our board games, you will find the rules are similar. Lawn games are yours for two weeks with a maximum of five renewals. You can place any of them on hold, but patrons can only borrow two at a time.
What is a “library of things”? It is more and more common for public libraries to offer items beyond traditionally expected types such as books, movies, and music. HEPL is starting this collection with outdoor games, but there is a good opportunity to expand this to other items such as tools, kits, or other gadgets. If there is anything you would like to suggest for this collection—or any of our existing collections—all you need to do is talk with a staff member and share your ideas!
