juneteenth

By Christy F., Collection Development Librarian

On June 19, we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, which marks the day that federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. If you’d like to read about Hamilton County’s Connection to Juneteenth, our County Historian David Heighway has written several blogs on this topic. Below are ten titles for middle school and high school teens to commemorate Juneteenth!
